Hawaii is host to a number of damsel fly species, some found no where else on Earth. This insect has two major parts in its life cycle, a small grub like juvenile aquatic stage as well as a regal winged adult stage. Hawaii’s unique ecosystems have been a perfect place for this striking insect to diversify and thrive.
